What do I need?

You'll need a phone that can record videos and send emails and/or MMS messages, or a digital video camera. If you haven't used either email or MMS on your phone before, it may need setting up. Check your instruction book or the support pages on the website of your handset's manufacturer for more info.

Alternatively you can upload a video from your computer using the upload form. For the technically minded the wall accepts mp4, wmv, mov, avi, 3gp and flv formats. If you can resize your video to 176x144 yourself, that will likely preserve the best quality, but we will automatically resize it for you if necessary.

Shooting a video

Please ensure that your video is no more than a minute long, otherwise it will take a long time to upload and download. Also make sure that the sound is audible, so try to minimise the background noise. Don’t record it standing on the kerb of a busy road, for example. Ideally, shoot the interviewee in a head and shoulders shot (or close-up) as mobile phone video is quite small and so small details are lost.
